A traction coefficient formula for EHL line contacts operating in the linear isothermal region

Many mechanical products including rolling/sliding parts are used with various lubricants and operating conditions. Increasing the efficiency reliability of requires an essential understanding traction characteristics parts. researchers have investigated EHL contacts considering shear-thinning, thermal effects, roller compliance. There are, however, only a few papers concerning modeling in linear isothermal region at low slide-to-roll ratios. We propose prediction formula for dimensionless coefficient line region. The was obtained by numerical simulations using fully-coupled finite-element contact solver, it is applicable piezoviscous rigid/elastic, isoviscous rigid/elastic regimes.
